10 Things I'm Sticking to Second Baby
Time Around

Truth is, every pregnancy and every baby is uniquely different from one to another.
I really mean that.
My little family was a trio for 3 years before we became a party of 4 and I can attest that each experience was incredibly special.  One of the perks about getting to the +1 kid zone is that you've come full circle on the kind of parent you will continue to be.  Well, at least that is the hope.  For me, this really meant that I could weed out what pieces were the most significant to me and my family and what I could toss the second time around.

10 Things I'm Sticking to with Baby Number Two
1. Breastfeeding -For as long as possible.  No explanation needed.
2. Traveling with baby -Not just out of town, but to run errands, go shopping and have dinner sometimes.  Because my baby time shouldn't just be spent conveniently.
3. Working full time -Because even in my most ideal financial situation, I'd still work.  Happy hour, anyone?
4. Baby pics -No baby picture is ever regretful.
5. Daddy Duty -Parenthood is a partnership, simply. I guarantee you that if I was the only one taking on those wretched sleepless nights, major damage would have occurred in my relationship.  And, who made up that rule about only mommies changing diapers anyway?
6. College Fund -Starting this account, small or big, is a must. I didn't discover this until my first year in college-when I realized I had no such thing.
7. Potty Training -Fearlessly.  I think I could write a book about all the ways this epic milestone could happen painlessly for all parties involved.  It is possible!
8. Vaccines -This is a sensitive topic so I won't preach.
9. Baby gym & swim classes -Because aside from teaching them fundamental skills at a young age, creating some kind of routine, and making a day just about them, it is effin cute.
10. Family Time -The most important of them all.  Because all the little and big moments spent together will turn into memories that your babies will never forget.

AND....

3 Things I'm Dropping Like a Bad Habit
1.  Excessive baby items -Overweight bedding, wipe warmers, bottle warmers, massive stroller, I'm talking to you!  My mama life was not better with you in it.
2. Massive 1st Birthday party -Because turning one is NOT the new sweet 16 of our time.
3. Crazy mommy paranoia -The biggest change I am making.  If you are going to have children, you need to be well equipped with patience, love, more patience and a lot of band aids.

Join me in keeping our sanity...second time around!
